Today, Bahrain continues to keep this heritage alive and long lasting, making it a key attraction for both locals and foreigners to enjoy. Collecting oysters in search of finding a precious pearl, is an excitement that divers feel and cherish, especially after a hard day’s work. Collecting and cracking oysters open requires strength, patience, good eye sight and of course time in order to find that beautiful round plump pearl. The feeling of catching and finding a pearl is indescribable, making you feel proud to have achieved a task that was and still is a heritage brought up by our ancestors and is a pride to our Kingdom, Bahrain. Our professional dive instructors will guide you through this experience whether you are a beginner (snorkeling) or a certified diver (3 dive sites that you can choose from).

Great and unique experience - definitely recommend

This is something i’ve been wanting to do for a while now. It was well worth the wait. It Was very well organised and both the dive guide and the boat master were friendly, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. The dive itself was suitable for both divers and snorkellers and we had a bonus sighting of a cuttlefish, sea snake and other sea life. We had a good amount of time in the water and were never made to feel rushed. Once back on board we were shown how to open our oysters and happily nearly everyone in the group was rewarded with a couple of tiny pearls. Great trip and would definitely recommend. Too many oysters to count!

My family and I had a nice time diving for oysters. Baher was a patient and friendly guide. The boat was spacious and stocked with water, sodas, and potato chips. The current was very strong and max depth only 5 feet, so we couldn’t really get under the current to escape it. There were innumerable sea urchins, so you need to be careful! Even though we didn’t find any pearls, we had fun shucking the oysters. It was truly a unique experience that my family will enjoy talking about for years. Note: there are many disreputable taxi drivers about, and outs tried to rip us off on the way back to the cruise ship. We paid $60 to get there but he tried to charge us $100 for the way back. (I gave him $60)

Fun in the Sun

This excursion is a great unique way to see what Bahrain has to offer. This is a nice half day trip.The guide/instructor is professional and super nice. The boat is perfect for this type of thing. The snorkeling option is still fun for those who are not certified in diving. There are plenty of refreshments on board. The crew goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good time. It is really cool to see Bahrain from the water. And if you find a pearl you get to keep it.

Pearl Diving & PADI Open Water

Came to Scubalife Bahrain to entertain myself while i'm in the region, I had already been diving a few times before but was definitely keen to go back over the weekend. I instantly got a great vibe from Ahmed and Baher and decided to go for my PADI Open Water course here, passed the theory with Ahmed and went pearl diving with Baher. I am yet to go back and finish my last few dives for my certification but the guys have been extremely accomodating with the course and the dives despite my busy schedule and most importantly they know their stuff. Looking forward to trying something other than pearl diving next time I go back, I'm sure it'll be great, the guys are down to earth and very knowledgeable. Best regards, MB
